Come and See What God's Love Is Like

Excitement We Can't Contain

What do you do when you're really excited about something? Do you keep quiet about it, or do you tell everyone you can about it?

We sing a song by Heather Price at our kids program that goes like this:

"I clap my hands because God understands. I shake my hips 'cause those words are on my lips. I jump up and down because in God I found that I am loved."

This song reminds us to celebrate God's unconditional love for us. In fact, when we understand just how much we are loved, we can't help but celebrate—clapping our hands, shaking our hips, swaying our arms. Have you ever noticed that when you're excited about something, that excitement comes out in your words and your body?

Sharing the Love

Another thing that happens when we understand that we're loved is that we want to share that love with other people. We want to tell them all about it, but we also want to show love with our actions.

We want to say to our friends, "Come and see what God's love is like." And we want to invite them into the dance of God's love with us so that they feel like clapping and jumping too.
