I am married with 3 grown up children, two granddaughters and one grandson. I am a retired Railway Rolling Stock Engineer living in the Blue Mountains in NSW. My wife and I like traveling around Australia as well as seeing other parts of God’s beautiful world. I am a Lay Preacher in the Leura Uniting Church. I have an interest in old cars and drive a 1976 Triumph Stag and enjoy spending time with other members of the car club. Jesus: The Way That Never Leads Us Astray

In John 14, Jesus tells his troubled disciples that he is the way, the truth, and the life. Unlike our unreliable sat navs, Jesus already knows the way and will never send us in the wrong direction.

3rd May, 2026 (Year A – Easter 5) “Jesus is our Sat-Nav”

Here we learn that Jesus is the way to the Father. If we are going somewhere, we need an address and directions to travel -we use our Sat-Nav or Google. However the disciples had to see that the God they had a vision of was very different, to the Jesus they knew. But Jesus was their Sat-Nav and the person to lead them in God’s ways.

Following the resurrection the disciples were ‘shell-shocked’ and wondered what they might now do with their lives. Fishing was something they knew.  Jesus re-met them there and asked if they loved Him more than life as fisherman? Jesus gave Peter a mission.  Jesus keeps coming back to us and asks us to prove our love by serving Him.
